Entry requirements

Level 3:

  1. Age Requirement: Applicants should be 16 years or over on the closing date of applications.
  2. G.C.E (O/L) Examination: At least 06 passes in G.C.E (O/L) Examination with Sinhala, English, and Mathematics.
  3. G.C.E. (A/L) Examination: At least 03 passes in G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in Science or Technology Stream OR Completion of SLQF 2 qualification with science subjects OR Any other equivalent qualification approved by the Academic Advisory Board.

Level 4:

  1. All Level 3 Qualifications: Applicants should meet all the qualification requirements in Level 3 mentioned above.
  2. Science-Based Diploma: Completion of a Science-based Diploma equivalent to SLQF Level 3 OR Any other equivalent qualification approved by the Academic Advisory Board.

Level 5:

  1. Higher Diploma in Applied Science: Successful completion of Higher Diploma in Applied Science of the Polymath Campus OR
  2. Comparable Courses: Successful completion of SLQF Level 4 with comparable courses of the Polymath Campus HD in Applied Science OR
  3. Equivalent Qualification: Any other equivalent qualification approved by the Academic Advisory Board.

How you study

Mode of Delivery:
The teaching is based on dual mode with face-to-face and online delivery systems.

Study Material:
Soft copies of course materials will be provided. A series of self-assessment questions (SAQs) will also be provided to help the student to develop analytical skills and independent thought.

03 years
Medium of instruction: English.

Lectures/ Discussion Classes/ Workshops/Tutorial Classes:
Lectures, Discussion Classes, Workshops, Tutorial Classes etc. are regularly conducted according to the time given prior to the beginning of the semester. The academic staff of the Campus also provides help and guidance to students in achieving their learning objectives.

Scheme of Assessment:
A student’s progress is assessed continuously throughout the course of studies using quizzes, assignments, continues assessments, mid-semester and end semester examinations. The assessment of each course will be based on quizzes, tests, laboratory work, field work, projects and any other practical training, depending on the course. The final grade for each course will be computed based on continuous assessment mark and the end semester examination mark and communicated to students.

A student shall at least acquire pass grade (C pass) for all the course credits within a maximum of eight (06) consecutive academic years. Students who are unsuccessful at the any course may repeat it with the next batch of students.
